Mini-update- European power plugs and professional installation

Dear Backers,

We have great news for those of you who do not use power outlets complying by US (110 voltage) standards. We’ve confirmed with Adkiosk, our manufacturing partner, that different versions of Ayi’s power supply can be produced specific to delivery country. European backers will receive different plugs that conform to European (220 voltage) standards. We understand that some countries/territories may have different standards, so please let us know if you have a specific request related to voltage/outlet concerns. We will do our best to ensure Ayi can work in your home without third-party adapters.

Finally, we’d like to inform our US domestic customers that we will be offering professional installation services (at a price- this is unfortunately not complimentary) with partners that are vetted by our internal team, as an add-on following our campaign. We are aware of the number of European backers we have, and are also looking at potential partners in Europe that will uphold our installation standards.

Stretch Goal & Important Updates:

Dear Backers,

Thank you for supporting us for an extremely strong start to our campaign. Because of you, Ayi has raised almost $150,000 in one week. 

Throughout the past week, you’ve also been an incredible community by making many constructive suggestions, and we’ve listened. Today, we’re excited to announce two incredible updates to Ayi, including a long-awaited stretch goal.

1) Google Assistant & Google Home integration.  

After hearing from many backers who own existing smart home products in the Google ecosystem, we’ve discussed the feasibility of integration with Google Assistant & Home in our first production run with our OS development team, as well as our manufacturing partner responsible for hardware. We will be able to support Google integration, and will prioritize development with Google in preparation for our first production run.  

2) Stretch goal.

It’s always been our vision to create products that embody the future of the home, both operationally and visually.  Upon hitting our stretch goal of $250,000, Ayi will come with a custom-built responsive backlight, linked to be responsive to specific commands within Instinct OS. 

For example, you can preset backlight to turn on after each "Hey Ayi" voice command, and turn off after your command is executed. 

This new feature can also provide mood lighting for a variety of occasions, with adjustable brightness.
 

For those of you not familiar with a stretch goal, it is an additional goal beyond the original $25,000 goal on Kickstarter that allows us to add features to the product not originally planned. In other words, an opportunity to create an even better product. Please help us reach this new goal by spreading the word to your friends and family.

Lastly, we wanted to notify our community that early-birds are now discontinued. There will be another opportunity soon to pre-order Ayi at a special price, but the early-bird price point of $399 will not be available again.

Dear Backers,

We hope you spent a wonderful Father’s Day with your families. Over the weekend, we ranked as the most popular project on Kickstarter! Currently, we are still in the top 10, and with your support, we can get back to number one soon!

In other news, we’re almost at our stretch goal of $250,000, which will allow us to redesign Ayi with an interactive backlight, linked to specific commands within Instinct OS. Although small, this new feature can do some big things.

The backlight will make voice commands more reactive, letting you know from far away that Ayi is listening when you initiate a command. It can change the mood of your home’s atmosphere by adjusting tone and brightness automatically based on readings from the ambient light sensor. It can pulse gently to allow for a more relaxing feel, or vibrantly to add life to a party. We are confident backlight will create a more dynamic product and a better user experience. 

We need your help to get there! Please help us by sharing the project on social media. Generating more hype about our project will allow us to be ranked higher on Kickstarter, and help us generate more hype.
